Our Team

Erin Woolerton

Erin grew up in a small rural community in Weavers Crossing near Huntly. She has worked for 15 years as a receptionist and clinical assistant at Hamilton Radiology.

Erin loves the variety her funeral directing role provides and has a passion for helping the local community. Erin believes her life experiences and love of people help her to guide families through the very difficult and stressful time of losing someone close to them.

When not working Erin enjoys exercising and spending time with her sons Samuel and Heath and Fur babies Harry and Bruno.

Philip Woolerton

Philip is committed to the old-fashioned principles of dignity and compassionate care.

Philip has worked in local funeral homes since October 1995, gaining qualifications along the way. These include the National Certificate in Funeral Directing, the National Certificate in Embalming and the National Diploma in Funeral Services and he is also a member of the NZ Embalmers Association. Having gained valuable experience working for others, and keen to incorporate his own values into the delivery of high quality funeral services, Philip opened his own funeral home in late 2011.

A son of the Waikato, Philip was born and raised on a dairy farm at Rukuhia, just south of Hamilton. He was educated at Southwell and at Hamilton Boys’ High School. Philip and his wife Erin have two boys, Samuel and Heath.

When you contact Philip he will be available for you to provide a high level of care.

Willy Johnston

Willy is a people person and has built his career on caring for others. He has joined the Woolertons’ team after 30 years of experience within people and customer relation roles in the travel and airline sector. Willy has also been a personal trainer and in his spare time still loves to keep fit by going to the gym and enjoys swimming.

A funeral director with an abundance of empathy, Willy places the families he serves at the centre of everything he does. He believes that a meaningful farewell supports healthy grieving and is focused on providing that.
