Our Team

Erin Woolerton

Erin grew up in a small rural community in Weavers Crossing near Huntly. She previously worked for 15 years as a receptionist and clinical assistant at Hamilton Radiology. 

Erin gained her National Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2018 and loves the variety her funeral directing role provides and has a passion for helping the local community. Erin believes her life experiences and love of people help her to guide families through the very difficult and stressful time of losing someone close to them.

When not working Erin enjoys exercising and spending time with her sons Samuel and Heath and Fur babies Bruno, Harry and Loki.

Philip Woolerton

Philip is committed to the principles of dignity and compassionate care.

Philip has worked in the funeral profession since October 1995, gaining qualifications along the way. These include the National Certificate in Funeral Directing, the National Certificate in Embalming and the National Diploma in Funeral Services and he is also a member of the NZ Embalmers Association.

A son of the Waikato, Philip was born and raised on a dairy farm at Rukuhia, just south of Hamilton. He was educated at Southwell and at Hamilton Boys’ High School. 

When you contact Philip he will be available for you to provide a high level of care.

Tahlia Glatz

Tahlia is originally from the beautiful Kapiti Coast and has worked in several areas of the customer service industry over the past 10 years.

Tahlia initially joined the Woolertons’ team as an assistant but quickly found that she loves the funeral profession and wanted to be more involved. Tahlia is now an embalmer and also working towards becoming a Funeral Director.

Tahlia spends her free time caring for her pets, plant collection, creating through arts and crafts, or playing video games.

Sheree Hopgood

Sheree made a significant career change at 35, transitioning from hairdressing to the funeral industry.
Her courage and determination to pursue her passion for helping others during difficult times, found funeral directing her new calling. Now with 20 years experience, Sheree enjoys serving the families that need guidance, bringing a wealth of experience and compassion to her role at Woolertons Funeral Home.
Outside of work, Sheree balances her responsibilities with her family, including her husband Steve, three sons, and grandchildren. She also finds joy in traveling, family history and tending to her garden.
